NG Theatre: Work-In-Progress Exhibition

N.G. is the abbreviation used while a scene take is ‘no good’ in filmmaking. In Taiwan, the mass media often use N.G. as a concept to describe that theatre performance is an event that actors can't be N.G. on stage. To some degree, performers in rehearsing actually being interrupted (which similarly means N.G.) during developing work. But, what would happen if performers are allowed to be N.G. in live performance or if rehearsals in work-in-process could be open to audience?

NG Theatre: Working-In-Progress Exhibition is a live performance exhibition, aimed to reveal the making of performing arts to audience and make communication between artists and audience. The exhibiting space is a rehearsing room made for this work. River hosts theatre and dance companies from all walks of life getting involved, being resident at rehearsing room one by one, making their works in process. Through this project, the relation between audience and artists could be reconsidered. In the meantime, for artists, the imagination of seeking and measuring their audience also being approved.
